Cancellation and Refund Policy for Reader Contributions & Subscriptions

We offer our readers voluntary contribution and subscription options through Google Reader Revenue Manager to support our research, editorial integrity, and open-access publishing.

1. Voluntary Reader Contributions

Contributions made via Google Reader Revenue Manager (one-time or recurring) are voluntary financial contributions to support independent health research and content development. Because our journalism remains accessible to all readers without a mandatory paywall:

One-Time Contributions: One-time voluntary contributions are non-refundable once processed, as they are immediately applied toward editorial and publication costs. However, if a contribution was made in error or processed fraudulently, please contact us within 48 hours for immediate assistance.
Recurring Monthly / Annual Subscriptions: If you have activated a recurring support contribution or newsletter membership, you may cancel your recurring subscription at any time without any penalty.

2. How to Cancel a Subscription

You have full, transparent control over your reader subscriptions at all times:

You can manage or cancel your recurring contribution directly via your Google Account Subscriptions & Payments Dashboard.
Once canceled, no further billing will occur. Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current paid billing period.

3. Refund Requests & Exceptional Circumstances

We review refund requests fairly on a case-by-case basis. We will issue a full refund under the following circumstances:

Duplicate Billing: If technical errors caused duplicate charges for the same billing cycle.
Unauthorized Transactions: In verified cases of unauthorized card use or billing fraud.
Immediate Cancellation: If a cancellation request is submitted to our team within 48 hours of an accidental recurring renewal charge.
